Valve has raised the price of the Steam Deck significantly – but now, it’s in stock too. The price of the 512GB Steam Deck OLED has now increased from $549 to $789, while the price of the 1TB model has increased from $649 to $949. As I write this, both models are available for purchase on Steam with an estimated delivery date of three to five business days.
The company says the price increase is due to “increasing memory and storage costs.” Nothing has changed about the Steam Deck, but “these new prices reflect the current state of component costs and other global logistics challenges across the industry. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes.”
Some refurbished Steam Deck models are also currently available, including a 512GB OLED model for $629 and a 1TB OLED model for $759.
In February, an update to the Steam Deck’s store listing stated that the handheld gaming PC would be out of stock “intermittently in some regions due to memory and storage shortages”. Memory and storage constraints have also created obstacles for Valve’s planned launch of Steam Machine and Steam Frame; The company originally wanted to launch these in early 2026, but due to shortages, it now expects to ship them sometime this year.
Valve launched the Steam Controller, which it announced late last year, on May 4, along with the machine and the frame.
