Town: The assistant that learns how you work, then gets to work.

I’m Tony, co-founder and CPO of Town. This is the third time (!) that I have worked on the same idea: an AI that works with you. The first was Navigator, which we launched here at Product Hunt in 2019. The second was at Google, where my team built an AI Teammate that we demonstrated on stage at I/O ’23. Every time we came close, but didn’t have the technology or the time. It is now!

For years the AI race has been about who is the most powerful. But for most people AI is still a privilege: it rewards people willing to learn prompting, workflows, connectors, MCPs, API keys. Everyone else gets a chat box and “good luck.” We built Town to go in the other direction: It learns from what you’ve already done and starts doing your work just as you would.

Some things people have actually done with their Townies:

– A CFO drafted 120 individual investor emails in one afternoon.
– A CPA and working mom reduced her busy season hours from 80 to 60 – Towne handled client research and emails, and her children’s school calendars.
– A nonprofit director processes grant requests that come in the form of handwritten notes in foreign languages, captured over the phone. Towns translates, transcribes, summarizes and files them before his first coffee. “It’s like having an employee and a half.”
– A founder who observes Shabbat once mentioned his Friday offline pattern. Town set up a Saturday-night briefing for him without asking.

No two cities are alike, because no two people are alike. It works for you, only for you – private, with approval-required defaults, per-task controls and a full audit log of everything you do on your behalf.

Jean-Denis Grez (my co-founder) and I will both be in the comments all day. Bring your tough questions and your wish list!
