This could be our best look yet at Samsung’s new wide foldable

Samsung is expected to unveil its next generation of foldables at the Galaxy Unpacked event next month, but now we know what they might look like, courtesy of some leaked images Android Headlines. The images shared by the publication include the case designs of the two new Galaxy Z Fold 8 models and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, also giving a good look at the phones inside each case.

Following the leak of an alleged dummy unit in May and a fresh photo of an apparent dummy unit from leaker Ice Universe this week, this may be our closest look yet at Samsung’s new wide-style foldable. There are some similarities between all of these leaks: They show a wide, passport-style form factor, with a selfie camera in the cover display and a double-camera setup on the back.

Recent leaks suggest that the wide foldable may actually be called the Z Fold 8, with Samsung’s more familiar, narrow book-style foldable rebranded as the Z Fold 8 Ultra. Images of that phone were also shared along with the Z Flip 8 Android HeadlinesAlthough these look similar to the existing Flip 7 and Fold 7 models.

Samsung’s new foldable is expected to get an official launch at the company’s summer Galaxy Unpacked event, which is reportedly taking place on July 22. This is a little later than usual, but it should mean that the wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 will launch before Apple launches its own wide-style iPhone foldable competitor, which is currently scheduled to launch in September.
