Report Says More High-End ‘Ultra’ Apple Products Are On Their Way

After last week, it may feel like we’re in a world of cheap Apple products topsy-turvy. For those reading this article on their shiny new, bottom-end MacBook Neos, I’ll try not to include anything that will unnecessarily take up your 8GB of RAM. But according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, bargain shoppers would be better off not getting addicted to Apple populism.

In his latest column, Gurman called the Neo “not the beginning of a broader move toward low-end devices, but an outward step.” And says more “superpremium tier” products are coming soon for Apple One Percenters.

Gurman is unsure whether all of these gadgets will literally use the Apple “Ultra” branding, like the CarPlay Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra, but says, in essence, these will at least have Ultra vibes:

Touchscreen Display for MacBook Pro Gurman claims that Apple watchers already strongly suspect that the pipeline will not contain standard devices, but rather a product in its own splash-out level, and that it will “likely sit above the existing M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models rather than replace them.”

foldable iPhone Gurman’s confidential sources told him it “might” be branded iPhone Ultra, but at an estimated $2,000, it would be an ultra-tier device in the phone category at any price.

“AirPods Ultra” product may or may not be releasedBut according to Gurman, when Apple releases its otherworldly-sounding AI-enhanced AirPods, there will be a premium tier AirPods product above the Pro and perhaps the Max. He says that these will have cameras which are not for taking pictures, but solely for giving information to the onboard AI. Sounds to me like an imminent ultra-level privacy dispute.

So if you’re very rich, enjoy the new toys that are apparently coming to your toy stash soon. Or, if you’re a typical MacBook Neo user like the rest of us, but you’re looking to throw away your tax refund before the Department of Education starts garnishing your wages this year and your splurge window closes, these look like these would be some pretty great ways to get rid of cash fast.
