
Developer Cyan Worlds is releasing a remake of the classic adventure game mist and its sequel Riven On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Microsoft Store. mist Previously available on Xbox, both games have now been updated for modern hardware, including Sony’s PlayStation VR2 headset.
On PS5, both mist And Riven Can be played in 2D flat screen mode or VR using the PS VR2. The flatscreen version of the game offers new ray-traced reflections and a performance mode that can boost the game from 30fps to 60fps in exchange for disabling some graphical features. Both games also support PlayStation’s Power Saver mode for lower energy consumption, and according to a new post on the PlayStation Blog, they’re considered “PS5 Pro Enhanced” if you have Sony’s more expensive console and want to see “improved viewing distance, foliage, textures, post-processing, and shading.”
Xbox version of Riven Cyan Worlds has been improved upon as originally included mist Remake. Riven Supports Xbox Play Anywhere, offers ray-traced reflections, includes the same performance mode introduced on PS5 and lets you play games in 4K and with HDR enabled on supported displays.
Cyan Worlds has released several versions of mist And Riven over the years, but the developer’s efforts to modernize both games began in earnest in 2020 with the launch of mist For Meta’s Quest headset. That game introduced a proper 3D version of Mystery’World of, among other improvements. Cyan Worlds later brought out a non-VR version of the remake for PC and Mac in 2021 and iOS in 2023.
