A man was shot by law enforcement near the Washington Monument in Washington, DC, on Monday, according to the US Secret Service.
“U.S. Secret Service personnel are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting at 15th Street and Independence Avenue in Washington, DC,” it said in a statement on social media. “One person was shot by law enforcement.”
The nearby White House was reportedly closed for some time.
The condition of the person who was shot was not immediately clear.
