Oura’s New Ring 5 Is Smaller and Lighter—and Adds an AI Health Coach

Blood Pressure Signal continuously analyzes biometric trends that may be related to cardiovascular stress. A new nocturnal blood pressure capability monitors whether blood pressure drops appropriately during sleep. Ora says this metric can reveal cardiovascular risks that daytime readings might miss. You can also add cuff readings to provide additional context.

Meanwhile, Nighttime Breathing provides a 30-day view of breathing disturbances during sleep to identify changes that may impact sleep quality or indicate underlying issues. Earlier this month, Ora announced a partnership with ResMed, giving users access to sleep health resources including nighttime breathing alerts, a complete sleep assessment, and the option to connect with independent healthcare providers for potential diagnosis and treatment.

Metabolic health is another growing focus. Ora is introducing a GLP-1 medication self-management tool that allows users to log and track dosing schedules, side effects, and weight changes. Oura is also expanding its health panel feature with Lab Upload, so you can import blood test results and compare biomarkers over time. In the US, customers can connect with qualified providers to import diagnosed conditions, medications and lab results into personal health records in the app.

According to Oura, the new launch comes with a greater emphasis on privacy controls. A new time-based data deletion feature lets users – across all Aura generations – erase data from specific periods of time without erasing their long-term history. Members also have more detailed oversight with configurable controls over how their data is used and shared with third parties.

The Ring 5 is available in sizes 6 to 13, and Oura recommends all consumers, including existing members, to use the company’s updated sizing kit before ordering, as the smaller design may fit differently than previous generations. Also new is multi-ring support, which allows users to pair and switch between multiple Ring 4 and Ring 5 devices on the same account at no additional charge.
