Netflix has acquired the documentary Lanny Wilson: Keeping Country CoolWhich focuses on a country music superstar. The film was produced by Teton Ridge Entertainment, Sandbox Studios and MakeMake in association with Shark Pig Studios and is planned for release globally on April 22. Amy Scott has directed the film.
“I couldn’t be more excited that this documentary is going to be on Netflix,” Wilson said. “This was a special project to make, and I hope people who watch it will see that no dream is too big and staying true to who you are will always take you where you want to be.”
The doc follows Wilson as she redefines what it means to be a modern country star, proving that staying true to yourself can lead to great success. The film captures a pivotal moment in her career, exploring the country icon’s personal journey and depicting her struggles and triumphs as she mesmerizes fans on stages across the country. Teton Ridge Entertainment and Sandbox Studios financed the film.
Producers include Angus Wall, Terry Leonard, Kent Kubena, Thomas Tull, Jillian Share, Jason Owen, Jane Gorton. Mandeline Monchik, Josh Miller, Katie Admire, Jillian Apfelbaum and Nicholas Gordon will exec produce.
