Discord is recovering after a brief outage that left some users unable to use the popular chat app. At 3:08 p.m. ET, the company said it had begun investigating an issue with its API system. Shortly thereafter, at 3:24 PM ET, Discord said it had identified the issue, but noted at the time that it was still affecting users, making it difficult for them to access the service.
“We are continuing to work to fix issues impacting availability for some Discord users,” the company said at 3:56 p.m. ET. “This is impacting all of our services including logging in and messaging.” Whatever the cause of the disruption, Discord appeared to resolve it quickly. At 4:16 PM ET, the company said it had begun to “see significant improvements” in its systems. As of 4:59PM ET, the service is not yet in a “fully healthy state,” so if you’re having trouble launching the app, it may take a little more time to get everything up and running again.
UPDATED 4:53PM ET: The headline and copy of this article have been updated to reflect that Discord is in recovery.
