Welcome to our latest roundup of what’s going on in the indie game sector. Once again, there are some cool new games for you to check out this weekend. We have plenty of updates and announcements for upcoming titles to tell you.

A bunch of solid indie showcases have come out recently (and you’ll be introduced to others below). If you want to know about a Ton As early as in other games, you’ll want to set your alarm as early as April 25th.

A rapid-fire Indie Waves section will power 160 of them. Organizers received 1,100 submissions for this installment, so congratulations to them for featuring a large percentage of them.

It focuses on games that are related to built-in operating systems and other custom interfaces. new releases

we waited so long Replaced. This cyberpunk adventure from Sad Cat Studios and publisher Thunderful finally arrives on Steam, GOG, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Series X/S this week. It is on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Otherwise, the base game costs $20. A pro version that includes the soundtrack is $25. It will be coming to the Epic Games Store later.

The game was initially scheduled to arrive in 2022. It certainly didn’t help that Sad Cat Studios was forced to relocate from Belarus to Cyprus following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But the game is finally here and it debuted to generally positive reviews.

Replaced is a 2.5D action platformer set in an alternate version of 1980s America, in which you play as an AI trapped in a human body who may or may not dream of electric sheep. I haven’t had a chance to properly dive into this gorgeous looking game yet, but I’m hoping to do so this weekend.

Talking about games that have been on my wish list for a long time, lizard god Came this week. I think I first noticed it around 2022. Various trailers had me enthralled with the idea of a puzzle exploration platformer that casts you in the role of a lizard who is able to walk along walls and ceilings.

I’ve played it for about 90 minutes so far. I explored the look and the lizard is very cute (being able to customize its appearance is a nice touch). I love that you “collect” a variety of insects by eating them. It’s a pretty relaxing game, which is roughly what I need at the moment.

However, I think there are some issues here. I’ve explored two of the main five islands in the open world and so far it feels a bit sparse. The joy of being able to climb over and around any object complicates things when it comes to the more precise platforming sections. While the sailing sections are beautiful, the boat is too choppy to handle in shallow water. I also encountered some mild technical issues on PS5, with occasional framerate drops and objects appearing. Hopefully, the developers of Inresin are able to resolve this issue.

lizard god – from publishers Super Rare Originals and GamerSky Games – is available now on Steam, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. It’s normally $20, but there’s a 10 percent launch discount until April 30 (on PS5, this only applies to PlayStation Plus members).

Another highly anticipated game was revealed this week Mouse: PI for Hire. We’ve had our eye on this first-person shooter/espionage game with gorgeous rubberhose-style animation for a long time. Reviews have been generally positive so far, and it looks like there’s enough material here to live up to those stellar visuals.

Mouse: PI for Hire – from Fumi Games and publisher Playside – is available now for $30. It is available on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

thirsty lover Developer Outerloop Games and co-publisher OuterSloth introduce cooking theme dosa day This week. It tells the story of two sisters who set out on a journey with their machine to dismantle a fast food empire and reconnect communities through cooking.

It caught my attention when I saw it during a showcase a while back and the concept is great, although I don’t like the turn-based combat at all. I’ve read some lackluster reviews of the game, and the general consensus seems to be that it probably needs some more time to get the cooking mechanics and combat down.

if you want to try dosa day itself, you can get it on Steam, Xbox Series

If you’re looking for a puzzle game that can be relaxing or dark depending on your mood, this might be worth checking out. A Storied Life: Tabitha. As you pack up a deceased loved one’s home, you’ll need to decide which items to keep in the limited storage space you have and get rid of the rest. To save space in boxes, you should wrap fragile items in bubble wrap and vacuum pack soft items.

As you save items, you’ll unlock words that you can use to fill in the blanks of your loved one’s life and tell their story, Mad Libs-style. Given that you’ll find things like blackmail letters and shirts with lipstick on the collar, it seems like there’s a lot of variety in the kinds of stories you can tell.

A Storied Life: Tabitha Now available on Steam. It would normally cost you $15, but if you buy it before April 28 you can save 10 percent.

To complete this section, I will quickly note this Hades 2 Now available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for $30 with a 20 percent launch discount. It is also on Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass.

i bought Hades 2 When Supergiant Games brought it to Steam Early Access two years ago, I told myself I’d wait until I had the full game. But I still haven’t reached it. There are always plenty of games that grab my delicate attention Hades 2 Faded into the background for me. I should really play it, I know!

upcoming

I am keeping an eye Edgefield High: Rock the School From Refugium Games. It is the spiritual successor to Rockstar bully Set to arrive on Steam this summer. This week it was revealed that it will hit the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S later in the year.

It is a coming-of-age adventure story in which you take on the role of Sam, a young boy who has moved to a new school in the early 2000s. He wants to make his last few months of high school memorable.

There’s a branching narrative with multiple endings here – you can choose to go to classes and be a good student, or skip school and cause trouble. As a long-ago mostly rule-abiding student, I was tempted to take the latter option. It seems to be a kind of life sim that includes a wide range of activities and ways to get into trouble. I’m looking forward to it.

The latest edition of the Galaxies Showcase – another indie spotlight event – took place this week backworld caught my attention. this is one Mother– An RPG inspired by Newmore Games and publisher Top Hat, with charming art direction (yes, I saw a character running around in Naruto), an interesting mix of characters and…

Oh no, why did the music stop? Why did it become so dark suddenly? What are these terrible beasts that are chasing my character? Yes, there’s a heavy horror element here. Inspired by Newmore back room Too.

backworld Will be released later this year. A demo has just arrived on Steam.

A study in blue, From Relate Games, Galaxies was another highlight of the showcase, thanks largely to that impressive animation. It is a point-and-click adventure in which you play as two characters with complicated pasts: private detective Kenneth and fugitive Blue.

You’ll explore a semi-open world and solve crimes by collecting clues and uncovering the characters’ lies. It consists of three intertwined story acts and multiple endings. A Steam demo is now available featuring a side quest from the main game that will take approximately two hours to complete.

I will always be interested in any exciting sport The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. On the cover of this trailer, elementalis Developer AnKae Games seems to have borrowed design language and other ideas heavily from the SNES Classic. Still, if you want to criticize anything, this might be the best game yet.

This 2D action RPG, also published by Top Hat, focuses more on elemental powers. a link to the PastLooks just like my kind of jam. It’s coming to Steam, GOG, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on April 28th. According to the eShop listing, it will be priced at $18.
