We have received information that the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Cloudflare 5 and Mythos 5.
We will begin restoring access tomorrow and will share an update soon.
We’re grateful to our users for their patience and to everyone who works with us…

According to an X post from Anthropic, users will be able to use the Fable 5 again on Wednesday, July 1. More specific Mythos 5 controls were dropped on June 26.
Fable 5 was part of the Mythos class of anthropic AI models, which were announced in April as not only a world-class cybersecurity tool, but a super-weapon in the hands of potentially damaging hackers. The Mythos model family was initially available only to a select group of partner organizations. This caused widespread fear among governments and other key institutions concerned about their vulnerability to cyber attacks.
The Fable 5 was intended to be a consumer-ready version of the Mythos, with some of its more concerning capabilities toned down. However, about three days after release, Anthropic announced that it had to be taken offline after the Trump administration released its export controls, citing reports that the Fable 5’s security measures could be easily circumvented. Anthropic has since been in talks with the Trump administration.
Over the past week or so, those talks have reportedly improved, apparently culminating in the removal of controls on Tuesday night and the restoration of access to the model scheduled for Wednesday.
