Boox recently announced a refresh of its popular Go 6 e-reader, and it adds stylus support for note taking. The 6-inch E Ink reader integrates with the company’s already existing InkSense Plus stylus. The tablet costs $200 and the stylus costs about $45, making a total of $245 for the entire package. Pre-orders are open now and shipments will be sent on June 17th.

There’s more here than just stylus support, although that’s quite useful. The updated Go 6 is available in four new colors and comes with a native note-taking app that can be used with the stylus to “mark up books, underline paragraphs, and capture handwritten notes and to-do lists.”

RAM has also been bumped up to 3GB, which should make everything a little more responsive. The e-reader has an adjustable front light, a 300 ppi monochrome ePaper display, 32 GB of storage, and a microSD slot. It’s on the smaller side, its shape is slim and it weighs just over five ounces.

It runs on Android, so users have access to the Play Store. However, due to the low frame rates, running apps on an e-reader can often be frustrating. Results will vary depending on the app. Like most modern e-readers, the Go 6 can last several days on a single charge with regular use.

This is not the first time that Boox has introduced stylus support in one of its products. The Go 7E Ink tablet got this feature last year.
