Mute: A visual productivity tool to visualize your brian-dump

@vrlord watched your video explainer. This is the thing that I have always tried to make clear and that is that the software/data/code resides in structured data like SQL DB, tables, blob objects, arrays etc. But the brain isn’t like that at all, it’s groups of synapses firing. As such, even a NoSQL DB doesn’t really tell us much about how the brain sorts and processes data.

I think you’re really getting close to imagining how the brain (or at least my brain) likes to focus.

I think this could be a wonderful UX for how we manage desktop layout (it’s 2026 why the Windows and Mac OS desktop is still a grid of folders and files haha).

I especially like how you measure the reduced mental load factor – this is something I really struggle with, actually measuring the benefits of my productivity strategy.

There’s some refreshing fluidity to it that other productivity apps seriously lack because they’re still very Kanban/Trello/grid-like.
