Unfortunately, Asus hasn’t detailed what information is sent to healthcare providers, when that information is sent, or what actions the AI agent will take based on that information.
Asus isn’t the only tech company to engage physicians when it comes to smart wearables. Samsung is working on faint detection and glucose monitoring, and the Apple Watch features an ECG monitor, while Whoop is giving users access to its subscription service as well as “licensed physicians” on demand.
However, unlike other manufacturers, Asus’s AI system is designed to act based on clinical data, which doesn’t feel particularly comfortable. Samsung’s Galaxy watches focus on monitoring and predictive models, while Whoop’s service provides access to healthcare that still leaves your medical decisions in the hands of you and your doctor. The Asus AI Agent for Healthcare analyzes patient data to “perform actions in real-time,” making it seem like it will make healthcare decisions for you. While AI could be useful for parsing trends through long-term health monitoring, it’s difficult to say what data or actions the Asus AI Agent will take given the scant details provided in the press release.
Keeping the AI agent aside, the VivoWatch 6 Plus looks like a solid alternative to the Galaxy Watch or Apple Watch. It features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a titanium alloy case and sapphire crystal glass. VivoWatch 6 Plus offers continuous health monitoring through sleep, breathing, movement and gait analysis as well as blood pressure and ECG to provide deeper insights into chronic diseases and long-term health trends.
Asus hasn’t confirmed pricing for the VivoWatch 6 Plus, but considering the VivoWatch 6 ($299), we can expect it to be slightly more expensive than the base VivoWatch 6, which puts it in direct competition with the Galaxy Watch 8 and Apple Watch Series 11.
Would a Healthcare AI Agent Be Any Good? It’s TBD until someone reviews the VivoWatch 6 Plus.
