Alex Jones may lose soon InfowarsThe digital perch he has used for decades to spread conspiracy theories at the satirical newspaper The Onion. But not before he reveals something truly funky: comedian Tim Heidecker’s past (publicly available) work.
“The Onion newspaper is shocked by the discovery that their new creative director has produced pro pedo/child abduction, torture and murder programs,” Jones wrote on X on Friday. “Below is an actual mug shot of the creep..” he continued. The post included a fake mugshot of Heidecker taken from the 2017 Adult Swim courtroom series, in which he is on trial for 20 counts of 2nd degree murder.
Since news broke on Monday that The Onion is nearing a new deal to take over Infowars from Jones — and bringing in Heidecker to serve as the site’s new creative director — the conspiracy theorist has been posting about the comedian’s past work on X. In one 30-minute segment, Jones describes and responds to the plays of Heidecker and collaborator Eric Wareheim.

It’s not clear whether Jones realizes that “mugshot” is part of it — but he certainly expects his audience to believe what he says. Always the opportunist, Jones makes a plea to his base.
“That’s what we’re up against,” says Jones. “So literally, if you don’t spread the word of mouth about what we’re doing, if you don’t pray for the broadcast, if you don’t support us financially, you’re literally aiding and abetting these people.”
Jones also claimed that there are “whistleblowers” inside Adult Swim and that there are “even more things coming from inside the show” that were not aired. An email sent to Jones’ site went unanswered.
For years, Jones has used his online platform to enrich himself by selling merchandise, dietary supplements, and sketchy health products while spreading lies and conspiracy theories. In 2022, Jones was ordered to pay $1.5 billion to the families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting, which he claimed was a hoax. Jones repeated similar claims this week.
This new deal for The Onion to run InfoWars follows a legal back-and-forth through 2024, in which a court-appointed trustee and the Sandy Hook families selected The Onion’s bid to take over the site. After a judge initially blocked that deal, The Onion came back with a new licensing deal in which they would pay to use InfoWars IP. The new deal still needs to be approved by a judge.
