2 NYC residents found dead inside Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City

A pair of New York City residents were found dead under mysterious circumstances Sunday afternoon inside a room at the Borgata casino hotel in Atlantic City, prosecutors said.

The bodies of Wei Guo Liang, a 68-year-old Brooklyn man, and Baoyi Bowei Zheng, a 36-year-old Staten Island woman, were found by authorities in a room in the gleaming high-rise building around 5 p.m., the Atlantic Prosecutor’s Office announced Wednesday.

According to prosecutors, the autopsy revealed that Zheng’s cause of death was a broken neck, while Liang died from self-inflicted stabbing.

The prosecutor’s office did not provide further details, including whether it was a murder-suicide.

A spokesperson said in response to a follow-up email that the office did not wish to comment further on the possible manner of death until the investigation is complete.

The Major Crimes Unit along with the Prosecutor’s Office and Atlantic City Police are investigating the case.

An email sent to MGM Resorts International, which operates the Borgata, was not immediately returned Wednesday morning.
