On Wednesday, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones discussed the fibula injury he is working on.
Jones appeared on the injury report last Thursday as a limited participant. On Friday, he was back at full strength and played in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“It was something that was hanging around and it was realized last week,” Jones said. “I’m just trying to get treatment and make sure I’m in the best shape I can be.”
The Colts did not hold an actual practice on Wednesday, but instead did a walkthrough. On the projected injury report, Jones was again listed as limited.
“It’s something I realized last week,” Jones said. “It’s hard to say exactly when, but yes, last week I felt something. Noticed. It’s been really good working with the trainers here and making sure we’re ready to go. Got a good plan.”
However, both Jones and head coach Shane Steichen have made it clear that Jones will be good to go for this week’s game against the Houston Texans.
“I’m good,” Jones said. “I’m absolutely fine. I’ll be ready to go on Sunday. Obviously being there last week, I’m ready to go.”
Under Jones’ leadership, the Colts are 8–3 and currently hold a one-game lead in the AFC South race and the third seed in the AFC playoff picture.
