These are exactly what they sound like: tasks that you can get Google Gemini to run automatically on a schedule. Perhaps you want weather and news reports every morning at 7 a.m., or perhaps you want evening meal suggestions every evening at 7 p.m. Whatever you want a Gemini to do, you can schedule it in advance.
It catches up with Gemini in this regard, along with the ChatGPS app, which introduced scheduled functions several months ago. To create a scheduled action in Gemini all you need to do is describe it, and include the scheduling details in the prompt. For example, you might ask Gemini to “Picture a cat playing with a ball of yarn every Monday at 12 noon” or “Give me a trivia trivia question every evening at 7.”
Scheduled tasks can be set to happen once—say next Friday at 3pm, so something happens at a specific time on a specific day. Alternatively, your tasks can run on a recurring daily, weekly or monthly basis. They can’t be set to a more complex rhythm (such as every second Tuesday of the month), or surprise you randomly.
Gemini should recognize that you’ve asked him to schedule something, and will offer a recap: what you’ve asked him to do, when, and how often. Assuming all this information is correct, you don’t need to do anything else.
