Trump demands ABC fire Jimmy Kimmel

President Donald Trump is calling on Disney to fire Jimmy Kimmel. On Thursday, Kimmel joked that Melania Trump was looking like a “candid widow” in a skit about the upcoming White House correspondents’ dinner. The drama aired Saturday, just days before an armed gunman attempted an assassination at the event, which was attended by President Trump and Melania Trump. He and other administrative officials were escorted out of the ballroom.

Trump – who has faced significant speculation over his health in recent months – interpreted the comments as a provocation to attack him. “I appreciate that many people are outraged by Kimmel’s disgusting calls for violence and generally don’t respond to anything he says, but this goes beyond that,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Jimmy Kimmel should be fired immediately by Disney and ABC.”

Melania Trump posted about Kimmel on X on Monday morning. “Enough is enough. It’s time for ABC to take a stand. How many more times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.”

Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The company suspended Kimmel in September after he made comments about Charlie Kirk’s alleged shooter following pressure from FCC Chairman Brandon Carr. He was reinstated shortly afterwards.
