The aptly named “Roll Call” trailer gives us a small glimpse of our time-displaced giants. From ancient Egypt to the present day and the far future, they’re all looking good in action and in their new costumes. (Nightcrawler sword-swinging escape and harnessing the storm sun? Beautiful, love seeing it.) But the most interesting part of the trailer is when it reveals the season’s fresh new faces who will help the team in the fight against Apocalypse. Fan-favorite mutants Strong Guy, Psylocke, Wolfsbane, Archangel, Siryn, Havok, Multiple Man, Polaris, are present and accounted for, as is the White Queen herself, Emma Frost.
It’s important to have these new characters here—except for Emma, everyone else was a cameo in the first season X-Men ’97 Thanks to Morph becoming him during the fight. (Speaking of which, they have the Silver Samurai in shape-shifting stable form this season!) Some of these new guys are also part of a current tie-in comic setting up new characters and stories, so go ahead and read it.
