It appears like that batman part ii has added another star to its stacked cast. And spoiler, it’s someone from another major franchise.

According to Deadline, Charles Dance has signed on for the DC film. Known for playing Tywin Lannister game of Thrones, Dance is reportedly set to play Harvey Dent’s father, Charles. (Boys, let’s hope that doesn’t get confusing.) Earlier this year, we learned that Harvey will be played by Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson will be his wife Gilda. Finding someone to play Papa Dent isn’t so easy, with big stars like Daniel Craig and Stellan Skarsgård said to have turned down offers.

Maybe that’s appropriate, given what an odyssey it’s been batman part ii Even construction has started. Between the Hollywood attacks, Reeves’ general silence, and Penguin’s TV show, concerns spread that the sequel has been quietly cancelled. (Apparently things got so bad that James Gunn had to ask people online to step away from Reeves.) Production is said to begin later this spring, so we’ll learn more about the film through set photos in the coming weeks.

batman part ii It is currently slated to hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
