Seth Meyers takes ‘A Closer Look’ at Epstein’s emails naming Trump

Despite efforts to inspire people to come forward, Donald Trump’s relationship with convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein remains firmly in the news with new developments this week. As CNN reports, in a series of emails from Epstein’s estate released by Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, the president is named several times in emails allegedly written by the late billionaire. In one reported instance, Epstein alleged that the president “knew about the girls”, and in another message allegedly sent to his partner Ghislaine Maxel, Epstein accused Trump of “[victim] Spent hours with him at my house.”

On Wednesday night, Seth Meyers used his “A Closer Look” segment to examine Trump’s White House redesign as well as the Epstein emails, which multiple media outlets reported Democrats say “raise new questions” about Trump’s relationship with Epstein.

“They raise new questions? I feel like they answer old questions. I’m no detective, but if one of the questions was ‘Did Trump know about the girls?’ And you’ve got an email from Jeffrey Epstein saying Trump ‘knew about the girls’ which sounds pretty bad,” Meyers said.

“It’s like you’re investigating a murder suspect and you search their house and in their closet there’s a shoebox with ‘murder weapon’ written on the top and ‘yes, this is murder’ written on the side.
