While those types of “virtual display” glasses have their fans, they seem more suited to being a premium optional accessory than a standard inclusion with every device. Asus already sells the Xreal R1 Glass for $850, and the ROG Xbox Ally
Although Asus isn’t discussing pricing just yet, it’s not out of the question for the bundle price to be near or over $2,000 when the X20 launches later this year. That price—as well as the “Asus 20th Anniversary” branding for the hardware—would suggest a very limited market and thus a device with limited production.
It would be a shame — the upgrades available in the X20 might find a good audience if they weren’t tied to a pair of really expensive AR glasses. Hopefully, Asus will offer a standalone version of the ROG Xbox Ally X20 hardware that will be available long after the 20th anniversary bundling ends.
