Her brother, Robert, and mom, Terri, were at the third annual Steve Irwin Gala at the Bellagio in Las Vegas on May 2 and shared an update on Bindi’s condition as she battles endometriosis.
“Bindi is doing much better now,” Terry told E! News in a joint interview with Robert. “So, things like a lot of traveling are a little challenging for her at the moment and so she will be here next year to celebrate this wonderful night.”

Terry said Bindi, who has 5-year-old daughter Grace with her husband Chandler Powell, was “ecstatic” about the program and has been able to get back to her wildlife conservation work.
“She’s staying a little closer to home this year,” the proud mom said. “So, the irony is that it’s less of a burden for him to stay at home and feed the crocodiles.”
Robert continued, “You’ll remember we have 500 people on our team (at Australia Zoo). We have about 500,000 acres of conservation land. Someone’s got to hold down the fort. So, Bindi is doing a great job of that.”

Bindi recently revealed that she has had 50 scars removed from her body over the past three years while dealing with the disorder.
“I have felt indescribable, inescapable pain. Trying to keep my invisible disease to myself after doctors told me it was just ‘part of being a woman.’ I spent 10 years without a diagnosis. As a teenager and young woman, I felt weak and extremely vulnerable. I was trapped in my own body,” she wrote in an Instagram post on March 30 acknowledging Endometriosis Awareness Month.
“If you’re in pain, my heart breaks for you. I believe in you. Please find answers. And don’t give up on yourself. I know how hard it can be,” she wrote.
