OpenAI is going to let users access Codex, its desktop AI tool, to write code from the ChatGPT app on your phone and using the apps on your computer.
Codex in the ChatGPT mobile app lets you use your phone to tell Codex on your computer to work on a task. According to a blog post, with your phone, you can “work on all your threads, review output, approve commands, change models, or start something new” in Codex. “Your files, credentials, permissions, and local setup remain on the machine where the codecs are working, while updates including screenshots, terminal output, diffs, test results, and approvals flow back to your phone in real time.”
The feature is now rolling out as a preview for all ChatGPT plans on iOS and Android, including the free plan and the more affordable Go plan.
