Mashable Trend Report
“It’s encouraging men to learn how they really live, without swiping, born from the mind of someone who has been there and wants better,” he said in an email sent to Mashable. The swan has no matches; However, users can “wave” towards each other, and if both people do so, they are connected. But you don’t have to connect to Match – users can match with anyone just by waving a signal of interest.
Goose will have a live map that shows where people are, so users can know who is around them. But they can also scroll to meet new people. The profile will contain photos, videos and ongoing updates; You won’t even need to say what you’re looking for. Chats may also disappear, and screenshots will apparently be protected, though information sent to Mashable is unclear.
Goose appears to not be on the App Store yet, nor does it have a website, but an Instagram account has surfaced and at the time of publishing it already has 12,000 followers.
News of Goose’s launch comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Match Group’s “intentionally” gay dating app, Archer, will be shutting down on June 17.
