Photos of an unreleased Microsoft Xbox cloud gaming controller have leaked online thanks to a Brazilian website technoblog. The smaller controllers look like something an 8BitDo would release, although the D-pad and home button feature the familiar Xbox aesthetic.

According to a report, it is actually being manufactured by Microsoft The Verge. It is believed to include a rectangular body, small grip, staggered thumb sticks, and the usual complement of Xbox buttons. It looks like there will be two colors available, as the photos show the controller in both black and white.

Regardless of the size, this could be a great controller for cloud gaming. That’s because it reportedly uses Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth to connect directly to Microsoft’s service, which should reduce latency. If needed, it can also be connected through Bluetooth.

It even uses a real rechargeable battery. Any Xbox player knows that the company has had a major and inexplicable preference for AA batteries for decades. According to the analysis, the controller is powered by a dual-core ARM Cortex A7 in Realtek chipset digital foundry.

The controller remains unannounced, so we don’t have pricing or availability information. However, this leak may force Microsoft to provide some official information in the near future.
