Microsoft 365 Copilot gets a speed boost and cleaner design

Microsoft is launching a new version of Microsoft 365 Copilot, which features a cleaner design that the company claims loads up to twice as fast. According to Microsoft, as part of this update, Copilot will provide more reliable and structured responses that are easier to scan.

The redesign, which is rolling out on desktop and mobile devices, comes with a feature Microsoft calls “progressive disclosure.” This means CoPilot will present tools and controls based on your prompt, rather than showing you too many options at once. You can now also format your text directly inside CoPilot’s advanced prompt box, which will expand to fit everything you type or paste.

Inside Microsoft 365 apps, Copilot opens in a side panel, where it can answer questions, or make suggestions and make changes to your document. You can also open a chat window from within a paragraph, spreadsheet cell, or slide.
