During a January earnings call, Elon Musk announced that production of the S and “We expect to stop production of the S and X in the next quarter and basically shut down production,” Musk said.

The final Model S posted earlier Saturday was shown being assembled with plant workers’ signatures already on its panels.
That’s S and Tesla is a separate, publicly traded company from its partner Elon Musk-led company SpaceX, but they are now more connected than ever through the TerraFab chipmaking project. Late last year, Musk was talking about sending Tesla’s Optimus robot to Mars.

In other words, Tesla is no longer considered “sexy.” It should be treated as just another appendage to Elon Musk’s bizarre and ever-expanding corporate project, whatever it is.
