Intuit will show off how it rebuilt its AI infrastructure to support fast and complex tasks at VB Transform 2026

Customer expectations have shifted from simple, fast conversational interactions to complex agentic AI-powered tasks that legacy IT architectures cannot easily handle.

To address this, Intuit made the bold decision to improve the technical infrastructure for its trading platform. The company moved away from its multi-agent setup, which prioritized broad capabilities, to a granular, skill- and tool-based architecture, embedding AI as well as human experts directly into workflows. This transformation involved disintegrating its giant agents into specialized components, separating the brain from the hands.

"We came from a multi-agent system where we had large agents who took a lot of the work to fully incorporate the workflow, skills, and tools “Down to the base level,” said Nung Ho, VP of AI at Intuit. “We changed the orchestrator, we changed the planner, we changed the brain, and we also changed what everyone in the entire company was building."

At VB Transform 2026 on July 14 and 15, Ho will share details about the technology decisions behind building an abstraction layer behind Intuit’s intelligence system. She will also share how the new architecture has allowed the company to separate its orchestration from specific model providers, allowing Intuit to remain agile and use the best tools for the job, whether from the larger model providers or its own in-house tools.
