Bear and the death of Nikki’s friend Sara. Just as Bear is about to confess his feelings for Bear, Wish Nikki literally gets into the situation, then viciously smashes Sarah’s face in with a brick until it is unrecognizable. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Wish tells Nikki Bear that their friend’s fate is upon her.
The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Sarah’s actress Megan Lawless about her role in the film, including her horrific death. When it came time to leave, she was thrilled to go out “in a dignified manner” and described it as her favorite day on the set. According to her, Nikki’s actress Inde Navarrete used a helmeted wig to break the glass, then Lawless had to “smash” his head with a brick while Navarrete simulated being repeatedly slammed. After a certain point, the crew replaced Lawless with a doll version to complete the remainder of the scene and for a close-up of Sarah’s bruised face.
Lawless said of his death, “It took us two tries to get it right.” “The whole sequence is so much fun. We had to pull off this thing that looked a little silly, but with 100 percent commitment. But she also doesn’t buy into the idea of Sara or Nikki (Bear on the other hand…) as villains, nor does she think Sara would have made a move while the other two were still in a relationship. Even the idea of them actually following up on the kiss that Wish Nikki interrupted at the party is something that Lawless feels “goes against everything Sarah believes.”
