Google workspace threatening to block firefox access

At the time of writing (2026-06-18), Google Workspaces is starting to warn Firefox users that they should use Chrome. it was for one Google Workspace Business Plus Account and workspace from updated browser and OS.

At this time, Firefox Access still appears to work but I don’t know for how long.

Feedback from Google Support

Absolutely nothing useful, moved around again and again and took a lot of time.

Why do I care?

My team needs to make sure their software works across multiple browsers, and I personally prefer to use Firefox and don’t want to be forced to use Chrome for no benefit.
