Games Done Quick will host its first ever event in Europe

Games Done Quick, the charity video game speedrunning series, is making its European debut at a live event at Gamescom in Germany this summer.

GDQ’s marathon event will run for the duration of the three-day show, starting from 28-30 August in Cologne, and will feature popular runners and on-site live spectators. The event will be broadcast on Twitch and YouTube, with programming starting daily at 4am (for all you early risers) and running until 2pm.

“We are thrilled to expand Games Done Quick globally and bring a live event to Gamescom in Germany, an opportunity that is incredibly meaningful to our team,” said Ashley Farkas, Owner and Business Director of Games Done Quick. “This partnership not only supports an amazing initiative, but also creates space for more runners to participate, especially those who have not had the opportunity to travel to the US before.”

Games Done Quick was founded in 2010 and has since raised over $60 million for charity around the world. This year’s first event took place in January and featured a live speedrun super mario sunshine, And to name a few.
