The Game Awards 2025 edition of the Day of the Daves digital showcase will go live on Twitch and YouTube on Wednesday, December 10 at 1PM ET. There’s over 30 hours until the Game Awards starts, which is perfect. it is called Day It’s the devs’ show, after all, and if we’re judging by past presentations, the event deserves to be in the spotlight for its full 24 hours.
This year, Day of the Daves: The Game Awards digital showcase will feature 22 indie titles, including three release date announcements and six world premieres. It’s a packed show, even by Day of the Daves standards. Expect to see projects from other developers including 17-BIT, Bone Assembly, Capybara Games, Deconstructteam and Panic Station, and publishers Annapurna Interactive, Devolver and Blumhouse Games.
Each day of Dave’s Showcase lasts about an hour and highlights a batch of extremely attractive-looking independent games across a variety of genres, along with commentary from the creators. Special games have been curated by industry veterans at Day of the Daves, and past shows have offered early glimpses of future hits such as Animal Well, Blue Prince, Cocoon, Desplote, Crow Country, Phoenix Springs, Skate Story, UFO 50, Eternites, Sorry We’re Closed Serious effort.
Day of the Daves is a non-profit operation that provides a platform for select independent creators to showcase their games to a large audience for free, founded by the folks at Double Fine Productions and iam8bit. In addition to accepting donations, it receives support from various industry players including Xbox, PlayStation, and Summer Game Fest.
The Game Awards 2025 will begin on Thursday, December 11 at 7:30 pm ET, with a half-hour pre-show. The whole thing will definitely last more than an hour, but we’ll find out together if it will reveal more of the game than Day of the Dead.
