Florida State, after being upset by St. John’s on Friday, now must defeat the Red Storm twice today to advance to a third-straight super regional.
The Seminoles clawed their way out of the loser’s bracket by defeating Coastal Carolina 2-1 in the opener, which took nearly 24 hours to complete due to weather delays and postponements, and then kept their season alive with an extra-inning win over Northern Illinois.
Game 1 of the Tallahassee Regional Championship (6th overall in the region) is scheduled to begin Monday at 12 p.m. (ESPNU), with Game 7 scheduled for 4 p.m. (ESPN+) if necessary.
Florida State will start Peyton Manka (2-1, .559 ERA, 9.2 IP) while St. John’s will start Evan Hokeley (3.21 ERA, 33.2 IP).
