Home care agencies run on relationships – but they’re inundated with paperwork. Intake coordinators spend hours manually transcribing calls, creating care plans, and chasing up follow-ups. This overhead slows down agencies and diverts their attention from the people they are trying to serve.
Sage is building an operating system for home care agencies – an AI-native CRM and virtual assistant that automatically transforms every client call and home visit into structured care plans, follow-up tasks, and system records.
We integrate directly with the tools agencies already use (WellSky, AxisCare), work on iOS and desktop, and save agencies over 100 minutes of time per client.
We are fast, well funded and signing agencies fast. We are now looking for engineers to help us build further.
Role and Responsibilities
As one of Sage’s inaugural engineering hires, you’ll play a key role in shaping our technical foundation and driving the development of our platform. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will have a significant impact on the company’s trajectory and growth.
You will be responsible for:
- full-stack development
- Applying agents tailored to the home care industry
- Designing, developing and maintaining our Django applications and native iOS apps
- Implementing responsive and interactive front-end features using Datastar
- Creating beautiful and accessible user interfaces with Tailwind CSS and SwiftUI
- product development
- Collaborating with founders to define the product roadmap and features
- Translating business requirements into technical specifications
- Performing code reviews and maintaining high code quality standards
- technical strategy
- Evaluating and implementing new technologies to improve our stack, such as which technologies should we choose for our mobile apps
- Establishing best practices for software development and documentation
- Planning for future technology needs as the company grows
what we are looking for
- Comfortable defining your own scope and operating with autonomy
- Experience developing agentic applications
- 4+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development
- Proficiency in Python and/or iOS development

- Experience with DataStar
- iOS development experience
- Knowledge of Tailwind CSS and component libraries like DaisyUI, Basecoat
- Experience working in a HIPAA environment
- Experience in an early stage startup or as a founding engineer
