Fandango has raised more than $2.5 million from moviegoers who chose to round their ticket purchases to the nearest dollar in support of community-driven charitable initiatives. This facility is named Round Up and is scheduled to be launched in January 2025.Donations have been used to help Boys & Girls Clubs of America finance their programs and create film viewing experiences and screening programs that will benefit club members nationwide.
Fandango announced that it has named the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures as its new seasonal partner. Funds raised through the Round Up will support the Academy Museum’s mission to “advance the understanding, celebration and preservation of cinema.” The partnership will support exhibitions, film programming such as family matinees, education initiatives including the Teen Council – which will inspire young artists and open avenues for diverse communities to engage with film, as well as preservation efforts for the Academy collection.
