I created Cliptop because I wanted Clipboard history to seem as fast as copying and pasting.
I use the keyboard for almost everything on my Mac, and most clipboard managers still feel like they’ve bogged me down: Open a window, scan a list, reach over with the mouse, select something, then get back to what I was doing.
Cliptop is my attempt to make clipboard history invisible. Press the shortcut, find what you copied, press Enter and proceed. No reference switches, no digging around, no breaking flow.
It opens from the notch/top edge or by pressing Shift+Cmd+V, but the main consideration is speed: Recent Copies, Preview, Pinboard and Paste actions are fast enough to use continuously throughout the day.
It’s also local-first, so your clipboard history stays on your Mac. Private iCloud sync with the Clipboard iOS app is also coming soon, but it will be an optional feature.
I’d love your feedback on flow: Does the cliptop feel fast enough to become muscle memory? And what keyboard-first paste actions would you like next?
Thanks for viewing this!
