In a recent Facebook post, Donahue (now played by Ree Hance) confirmed that he is not involved in the upcoming film. According to him, he was offered a settlement that raised “difficult long-term questions about individual rights, future technological use of identity and voice, the ability to speak freely, and compensation.” Wishing good luck to the project, he affirmed that “preserving my autonomy matters more to me.”
Hance did not extend the terms of that agreement.
