Apple Is Reportedly Planning A Visual Refresh Of The Entry-Level MacBook Pro Next Year

Next spring could be a celebration of new iPads, MacBooks and iPhones.

Mark Gurman is back with a new report bloomberg How Apple’s device lineup might evolve over the next 12 months. Sources told the reporter that the company aims to introduce an overhaul of the baseline MacBook Pro in the first half of 2027. The 14-inch entry-level laptop will reportedly sport a new design that will align with the look of higher-end computers that are likely to be announced starting in the autumn. Gurman suggests the lineup will include Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook, which was previously rumored for the M6 laptop generation.

In addition to the new entry-level laptop, Apple is reportedly testing four new iPad Pro models. Although specific details about the new tablets were not shared, sources suggested that the next round of iPads will focus on features to improve performance while retaining the existing size options of 11-inch and 13-inch.

Spring is becoming the time when Apple makes more announcements, and sometimes even the occasional surprise, for its entry-level and budget products. In the spring of 2026, we got a MacBook Neo along with the new iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro over the course of a week. Even without the potential addition of five products, spring 2027 looked to be packed with news from Apple. On the smartphone side of things, we’re already expecting to hear about updates to the iPhone 18 base model and iPhone Air. This could also be the case if Apple breaks its Pro and Max tradition and goes straight to the M7 silicon.
