Customers can order new joysticks, batteries, screens and more.
Just because your Enbernik handheld has a broken joystick or a cracked screen doesn’t mean you have to throw it in the trash. Anbernic recently revealed a store page dedicated to replacement parts for its gaming handhelds, ranging from its recent RG Rotate to older offerings like the RG350P. The store page has options to purchase replacement shells, screens, conductive rubber pads, joysticks, batteries, motherboards, and buttons for whatever handheld you’re trying to repair.
In addition to ordering a specific part on the storage page, you must specify the model and color for your order. Anbernic is warning customers to get this information straight as it will not make any claims if you falsify information on your device. While the storage page is live, Anbernic currently does not provide any guides or step-by-step instructions on how to replace individual parts.
However, for anyone with some DIY knowledge, Anbernic’s new store page offers a useful way to extend the life of an already affordable device. A replacement motherboard repair can cost up to $236 for more powerful devices, or as cheap as $3 for an extra conductive rubber pad. This is a similar move to Apple introducing its own self-service repair page, as previously, Anbernic customers had to go through the company’s support channels and get approved for a replacement device.
