Alexa Plus, Amazon’s advanced AI assistant, can now generate podcasts on “virtually any topic,” according to an announcement Monday. With the update, Amazon says you can give Alexa Plus a topic, and the AI assistant will provide an overview of what its AI hosts plan to talk about, letting you steer the conversation and adjust its length before it starts generating episodes.
Some “Alexa Podcast” examples shared by Amazon include two AI-generated hosts talking about the history of the Roman Empire, new music and World Cup expectations. Amazon says you can also ask Alexa Plus to produce an audio lesson about the Apollo missions, or a podcast episode about a new hobby like photography. This feature is similar to the AI-generated podcasts you can create using NotebookLM, a capability that Microsoft Edge also included in a recent update.

You will receive a notification on your Echo Show device and the Alexa app when the episode ends. You can tap the notification to play the episode, as well as access it through the Music & More section on the Echo Show or through the Alexa app.
