Hong Kong-based YouTube maniac Handy Gang faced a similar dilemma. Geng, let’s say, specializes in making specialized machines. Some of his more memorable recent projects include the “Handmade Revolver Lithium Drill” (a power drill that looks like a handheld cannon that would put Marty Robbins to shame) and the “Homemade Alpaca Sausage Grill Machine” (exactly what it sounds like). So there was really only going to be one outcome here, and happily for those of us who love watching people build really stupid machines, they chose… violence.
The result is inspired by a sword wielded by a character in the manga. bleachOne of the most impressively insane things we’ve seen on the Internet in quite some time – and we’ve seen some pretty ridiculous things recently. (Come to think of it, Handy Gang would have fit in perfectly with the good folks at Survival Research Laboratories.) I mean, the blade has to be 15 feet long:

It’s fitted with a digging arm via a custom-fabricated sheet metal fist, an impressive feat indeed, not just because it also includes a speaker to blast “scare music”. Geng is clearly very proud of the finished product, screaming with joy as he slices and dices several unfortunate items – he, inexplicably, starts with a watermelon (“It’s sliced so well!”), before moving on to two water barrels, some abandoned cars, and finally his brother’s three-wheeled rickshaw-type vehicle.
Understandably, the brother concerned is displeased with the presence of a 10-ton killing machine on his doorstep. “Isn’t this basically cheating?” He asks – which, you know, fair point. Of course, Geng has no time for such arguments, and the video ends with a deadly battle between the brother and the digger. Who will prevail? watch this space!
(We should add that this is all good-natured fun, and you should absolutely not try things like “unleash a huge and potentially lethal weapon on my unbelieving brother” at home. No matter how much that irritates you.)
