YouTube TV seems to be offering a generous gift to subscribers this holiday season, Here’s what we know

If you’re a YouTube TV subscriber, you’ve got a good chance right after the holiday season.

As early as next year, Google’s streaming giant recently announced plans for a more affordable premium streaming experience.

According to Cord Cutters News, the new budget packages are set to be introduced just as generous, with the new offering becoming a serious competitor against other streaming platforms including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, Sling TV, and others, as well as a sure-fire way to secure both old and new customers.

Among budget packages, YouTube TV plans to launch a dedicated sports-only package that will be “aggressively priced to undercut traditional cable sports tiers.” The sole purpose of this streamlined offering is to focus strictly on major leagues and events.

So far, the levels will include:

If you’re wondering how this all works, it seems quite simple.

Customers will be able to choose from smaller, cheaper channel bundles compared to the rates of other major sports networks like ESPN, Fox Sports and NBC Sports.

Additionally, for sports fans, other special bundles will include only entertainment and kids packages. This new feature will allow families to choose packages based on their interests without paying for unwanted channels.

Additionally, there is also ESPN Unlimited.

According to WDW News Today, the new addition comes alongside Disney and YouTube’s new deal, which YouTube TV base-plan subscribers have access to and that will extend beyond just joining the app.

According to the report, content from the app will be available directly on YouTube by the end of 2026, meaning subscribers will no longer need to go back and forth between the apps.

Within the app, YouTube TV subscribers have access to live games, highlights, and fantasy tools through the streaming service’s platform.

This way, customers can participate in a “unified app experience,” which enables users to jump between linear broadcasts and on-demand clips without the hassle of switching apps.

Luke Bouma wrote for Cord Cutters News, “With cheaper entry points, YouTube TV could capture millions of viewers, helping make YouTube TV the largest provider of live TV in the United States, driving traffic back to user-generated content on the main YouTube platform.”
