According to multiple reports, free YouTube Music accounts now have limited access to songs. Google began testing Songs as an exclusive feature for Premium users in September, but it appears to be getting a broader rollout now. It appears that free users will be limited to viewing lyrics for five songs per month, though we’ve contacted Google for confirmation.
Once that limit is reached, users will only be able to see the first few rows. Everything beyond this will be blurred out, and they will be prompted to “Unlock the song with Premium”. When you open the tab, a banner warning users about their limited number of song views remaining appears prominently along with a countdown.
