Xbox cloud gaming comes to newer Amazon Fire TV models

Xbox has brought cloud gaming to some Amazon Fire TV models. These include the Fire TV 4-series and the Fire TV Omni QLED series. This lets people play Xbox games directly on the television, without the need for a bulky console or something like a Fire TV Stick.

Gamers need a few things. First and foremost, this service requires a Game Pass subscription. Plans start at $10 per month and go up to $30 per month. They’ll also need a compatible wireless controller, though most Bluetooth-enabled gamepads should work.

The feature works for every game on the Game Pass platform and will also stream many titles that people own through the “Stream Your Own Game” feature. It won’t work with everything, but hundreds of titles are supported.

Amazon says this is just the beginning and more TV models will get this feature in the future. Xbox Game Pass became available on select Amazon streaming devices earlier this year. Today’s move makes sense, given that Fire TV and the company’s streaming sticks use the same OS.
