Winter Weather Advisory ahead of snow, wintry mix

Today is the 9th First Warning Weather Alert Day. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for parts of the Tri-State tonight due to the possibility of snow and wintry mixed weather this evening.

Here is the timeline:

From Saturday night to Sunday:
Some snow accumulations of 1+ inches are possible in our far northern counties. Areas of Southeast Indiana can expect anything from a light coating to up to two inches. Less than an inch is possible in Cincinnati and to the south and east. The rest of the region, especially Northern Kentucky, will see mainly cold showers with a mix of rain during parts of the winter season.

sunday:
Rain may continue till morning as temperatures will start rising above zero. Once the cold air moves in, temperatures drop during the afternoon, setting us up for wind and cold at the end of the weekend.

The cold air will stick around as we head into meteorological winter on Monday. There’s another chance for snow accumulation Monday night into Tuesday, and high temperatures will remain in the mid-thirties for much of next week.
