William Saliba injury news: Arsenal star center back out vs Chelsea

Premier League leaders Arsenal have lost another key player through injury as William Saliba was unavailable for the trip to Chelsea in a huge London derby and Gunners fans will be sweating over the latest injury news to their star French defender.

With Gabriel already out, Saliba getting injured was the last thing Arsenal fans would want to see.

Saliba played the full 90 minutes of Arsenal’s 3-1 win against Bayern Munich on Wednesday and there were no reports of an injury to the centre-back.

But when Arsenal’s team was announced on Sunday, Saliba was not in the team. It was quite remarkable that Gunner managed to keep this news quiet.

Arsenal have confirmed Saliba was missing due to a “training breakdown” which is a huge blow.

This is a huge blow and means first-year Premier League centre-backs Cristian Mosquera and Piero Hincapie will start together, with Gabriel still injured. Gabriel and Saliba are the best central defensive partnership in the Premier League and perhaps the world, and this is a huge loss for Arsenal.

But they bought Mosquera and Hincapie for the same reason and both have performed well this season. But it is a big challenge for them against the in-form Chelsea.
