After Washington Commanders running back Rusher Von Miller referred to Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz as “Lou Holtz”, the kicker fired back in a since-deleted tweet.
“I have tremendous respect for Vaughn and what he has done for this city and organization,” Lutz tweeted Saturday. “Future Hall of Famer. A name that will always be in the same league as a legend. But it’s a shame that he feels the need to disrespect my name when I’ve played in this league for 10 years.”
Lutz has since deleted his tweet, and it’s unclear whether he (or Miller) was serious.
Of course, Miller played for the Broncos from 2011-2021, spending his final seven and a half seasons in Denver playing alongside one of his good friends, kicker Brandon McManus. Miller stints with the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills and now plays for the Commanders. McManus now works for the Green Bay Packers, and Lutz takes over for the Broncos in 2023.
maybe we’ll find out later sunday night football If Miller and Lutz have a real beef.
