Over the years, NCIS The show primarily occupied CBS’s Monday primetime. That changed this year, when the network moved it back to its normal daytime slot, which is Tuesday. Now, all three shows have taken over the 8-11 pm ET block for CBS, making it easier to follow. That said, it becomes even more prominent when the broadcaster gives prior notice. The NCIS franchise is taking a break during Thanksgiving week
Like many of its scripted shows, CBS is not airing new episodes this week NCIS season 23, NCIS: Origins Season 2, and NCIS: Sydney Season 3 tonight, November 25, 2025. There’s actually no official reason for the hiatus, but it’s likely because it’s Thanksgiving week, and the broadcaster has prepared special programs for the occasion, such as Everybody Loves Raymond’s Anniversary the event that dominated FBI Season 8 slot on Mondays.
However, instead of a different program, CBS is rerunning some of the best episodes NCIS franchise so far this year. It will be repeated in the first two hours of the block. NCIS season 23 and NCIS: Origins Season 2 crossover event featuring the return of Mark Harmon, Muse Watson, and Roma Mafia. This will be followed NCIS: Origins Season 2, Episode 3, “The Edge” – Another nostalgia trip that focused on the reunion of young Gibbs and young Ducky.
When NCIS, Origins, and Sydney return for new episodes (and what else to expect)
Fortunately, CBS has confirmed that all three NCIS The shows are returning with their respective new episodes on December 2, 2025 NCIS Season 23, Episode 7, “God Only Knows”, the team deals with the kidnapping of a teenager who leads them to a Navy SEAL who escaped Taliban captivity but may have done something illegal on his way home. Elsewhere, Jimmy finally comes clean about what he discovered about Parker’s mother’s death.
In NCIS: Origins Season 23, Episode 7, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, the NIS’s case of the week involves the murder of a marine who was supposedly going on a classified mission. In terms of individual stories, Wheeler and Lala receive big news respectively, while Gibbs and Diane spend time with Randy and his wife. Finally, in NCIS: Sydney Season 3, Episode 7, “Gold Diggers”, an American naval officer is arrested for murder while trying to destroy a treasure map, leading the team down the rabbit hole of so-called “Yamashita’s Gold”.
